Jessiline Berry is an accomplished young filmmaker and Founder of FemmeMaker Productions, an organization dedicated to the promotion of women in the film industry. She is also Co-Founder of Prizm Pictures, a concept-to-completion production company whose goal is to give voices to the voiceless through their work with non-profit organizations, small businesses, filmmakers, and other media artists.� Ms. Berry has worked as Producer, Writer, Director, and Editor on several different projects ranging in content from experimental and narrative short films to documentary and entertainment television.� As a University of Texas graduate, she received a BS in Radio, Television, and Film (1999) and a BA in Theatre and Dance (2000).� She earned her MFA from Columbia University�s prestigious School of the Arts, concentrating in Film Directing (2007).� While at Columbia, she worked with several student groups to promote minority involvement in the film industry.� In the Spring of 2003 she founded Columbia Women in Film, a completely student-run organization whose aim is to celebrate women�s contribution to cinema.�
Ms. Berry has worked in varying capacities in projects produced by Token Productions, The National Black Programming Consortium, The Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education, Alpha Video, PrimeCut Productions, Teachscape, Lee Daniels Entertainment, BET Networks, and Character Studies Productions . In 2009, Ms. Berry was commissioned to be a Segment Director for the international collaborative feature film, THE DEATH OF SOCRATES, produced by Kanalya Pictures.� At present, Jessiline is participating in the Guy Hanks and Marvin Miller Writing Program as a 2011 Cosby Writing Program Fellow.� She is also developing feature film scripts and preparing for production of her original television pilot, SUNSHINE (La Lumiere du Soleil), sponsored in part by a generous grant from the National Black Programming Consortium. |
